What a rugged piece of hardware! This thing could probably be run over by a tank and still function!



However, I've have a beef with the keys and keyhole. The keyhole is tough to get to and unlock. I guess the tough comes with the tough. There is a black hard-plastic flap covering the keyhole, which in my opinion may be great at locking out rain, but I had to use a screwdriver to pop it out so I could get to the keyhole. I ended up just breaking it off completely, because I personally don't think it will keep out moisture, and it's really just annoying to work with. Plus, I didn't want to post a screwdriver next to the lock so I can always get to the keyhole every time.



The keys I received were poorly made. The tips of both of my keys were bent slightly making it quite difficult to insert into the keyhole. I had to take some pliers and a vice to try and straighten them.



Outside of these complaints, I like Master locks, always have, but this one could stand a redesign.

Bought this lock last spring to lock my garden tool shed; recently unlocked the shed for the first time after a long New England winter and the lock operated as smooth as when I first bought it, other then the yellow color fading the lock looks and functions as if it were brand new. No sign of rust, nothing is sticking, I'm very satisfied and impressed with it.

Good lock but only really useful for something like a gym locker or similar size. I bought it for a storage locker and it was not wide enough to fit around the bolt mechanism.

I considered buying this lock for my toolbox because the advertising says it's resistant to picking. Granted that I used to work for a locksmith, but it shouldn't be possible to open a lock like this with two bent paperclips in three seconds, which is exactly what I did.

I needed something secure to separate the funds for my group that could also be used at fund raising events.



Pros: The box feels quite sturdy and I love the combination and key feature. It allows me to grant access to several persons I trust via the combination but once I lock it with the key, only myself (or another-as there are two keys) continue to have access.



Cons: It can only use the factory combination given. It would have been nice if I could change the combination for each event or to something I chose.



Overall: I think this is a great purchase
